Twilight Uptown.

I think when I grow up I want to be a tonalist, minimalist, impressionist. These are all the things I find I'm gravitating towards the more I paint. I think everybody starting out feels constrained by their reference material. Lately, I've been exploring how little can I get away with defining and still have it be believable. I'm finding that I love undefined edges and seeing how suggestive I can manipulate architecture without making it too wobbly. I've noticed too that photos at night can make the sky awfully dark and it's hard to capture twilight as it seems to last exactly 5 minutes. So with this painting I wanted to create a sense of twili
