I was aggravated that this tree was "photo-bombing" my real-life view of Big Darby Creek. I'm not a mountain goat, so climbing around for a better view was out of the question. It was oh so humid and I didn't have pliers to loosen the wing-nuts on my easel. I ended up painting with my board in my lap. The offending tree had to do a lot of bendy moves to get sunshine. As I painted the weird shape, I noticed the pattern of main branches resembled a bird of paradise, so I leaned into it.
